Freediving and Spearfishing Fins

Freediving and Spearfishing Fins

These are our freediving and spearfishing fins, made by hand in our Tweed Heads workshop in NSW since 1999. Every pair of fin blades comes in one of four fibres: composite, carbon, Innegra carbon and HypeTex.

Composite is where most divers start. It is tough enough for rock hopping and it is the usual step up from plastic fins. Carbon is lighter and more responsive, with a faster memory, so the blade springs back sooner after each kick. Innegra carbon is light like carbon and tough like composite, and it is the least fatiguing blade we make. HypeTex blades are coloured carbon, made with a company called HypeTex, and they are very light and extremely responsive.

Every design comes in soft or medium flex. Go soft if you weigh under 85kg and medium if you weigh over 85kg. The heel of each blade sits at a 30 degree angle, so you do not have to bend your knees as much when you fin on the surface, and the rounded tip gives more thrust for the length of the blade.

Many of our designs come from artists we work with, such as Naomi Gittoes, Tiani Dun and Nadia Dora. Our blades fit into a separate foot pocket, and our foot pockets page has the ones we carry. Our fins carry a 3 year warranty and we ship worldwide. If you are still choosing a fibre, our guide to composite, carbon or Innegra fin blades goes through each one.
